Itinerary

Day 1 – Marrakech to Tagdilt

Pick up in the morning by your driver and guide from your hotel in Marrakech. You will cross the Tizi n’Tichka Pass in the High Atlas Mountains and descend the mountain range for the desert plains around Ouarzazate. After a picnic lunch we continue to Tagdilt (1.670 m) where we stay the night in a typical Berber house (gîte) at the base of the Saghro massif (9 hours drive).

Day 2 – Tagdilt to Almou Nourg

After breakfast, we begin by walking across the flat plateau surrounding Tagudilt then we begin to climb to the Azarzim Pass, we stop for lunch before we reach the Pass.  After lunch we head over the Pass and hike until we reach the home of Azib Almou N’Ouarg, a local shepherd, where we have dinner and camp (6 hours hike).

Day 3 – Almou Nourg – Igli

Today we climb to the summit of Jbel Saghro (2,592m / 8.504ft). Enjoy the spectacular views of the Saghro Massif and the High Atlas Mountains. Descending, we stop for lunch at the village of Tassigdelt, then continue down to the small hamlet if Igli with its fields, palmeries and almond orchards.  We camp here near the villagers, the fiercely independent and semi-nomadic people of the Ait Atta Berber tribe (7,5 hours hike).

Day 4 – Igli to Bab n’Ali

A little bit more walking today, as our 6-hour hike takes us up climbing to a high ridge with superb views across the surrounding area. From here we follow a valley to the Berber village of Boulouze. Following the river, we reach our campsite at the foot of Bab n’Ali (6 hrs hike).

Day 5  – Bab N’Ali to Assif N’Irrazoun

We set off crossing Bab n’Ali before descending through a gorge and fantastic rock formations. We follow the river down the valley until we reach Irrezzoun N’Imlas where we stop for a picnic lunch. The area around here is less arid or lunar-like as that of the higher plateaux and peaks, with the trail now passing through small farms and palmeries, and orchards of almonds and figs, until we reach our camp (5 hours hike).

Day 6 – Assif N’Irrazoun to Handour

After breakfast, we continue the trek through small Berber villages until we reach Handour where we have lunch and spend the afternoon relaxing (4 hrs hike). You have plenty of time to do your own things, take a shower, wash your clothes or just enjoy this pretty, old village by walking around and meeting the locals. Overnight in a Berber guesthouse.

Day 7 –  Handour to Marrakech

You will be picked up by our transportation and will start the way back from N’kob to Marrakech, through the spectacular palm oasis of the Draa Valley and over the Tinifift pass.
