You've read four Morocco itineraries this morning and they were the same trip. Marrakech, Aït Ben Haddou, a night in the dunes, Fes, back over the pass. Same route, same photographs, prices within a few hundred dollars of each other.

The route isn't what you're choosing. What you're choosing is who writes it, and who picks up when your flight lands at 1am and the driver isn't there.

Here that's one person. Nour reads what you send and writes the plan himself. On most trips he's the one driving it too, and when he isn't, he's still the number you call.

“You will start as strangers and end as friends.”

If you want a real local experience in Morocco, book a tour with Nourdine. I was lucky enough to join a 7 day roadtrip with Nourdine. We started at his home, just outside of Marrakesh. We drove into the high Atlas mountains, stopping when we wished. We would have a cigarette and a coffee, see a Kasbah or a beautiful viewpoint. Nour was always in a good mood, so fun to talk to. He's very knowledgeable about history, music, honestly any subject. He has a special kind of character that makes him personable to anyone. He always gave us options of what we wanted to do / stay. Every hotel was affordable, beautiful and clean. He took us to many weekly markets, which we always left with bags full of textiles and popcorn. The purpose of our trip was unique in that we wanted to make a short film. After being briefed about the project, Nourdine made every shot that we wanted possible. He connected us with so many locals, people he didn't even know, but advocated and organized for us to be invited into homes and businesses with ease. None of our project would have been the same without his help. He is really not an average tour guide that will go on and on about historical sights. Although he knows that information. It really felt like being with a friend in their home country. I cannot recommend having a tour with him enough.

“Nour is the most professional guide I have ever encountered.”

We had an incredible travel experience with Nour and his team. The tour from start to finish was organised with great care and precision. Nour himself is the most professional guide I have ever encountered and his knowledge regarding all aspects of the locations and his wonderful country are highly impressive. Big shout out to his driver Hamza also who we felt completely safe with at all times. The highlight for us was our night in the desert, although it could easily be argued that all of the tour was the best. We loved every second. Thank you again Nour for all you have done for us and the experience you gave us. Memories we will treasure always!!

“Our driver even came in on his day off to give us a ride — it meant a lot to us.”

We had an exceptional experience with Moroccan Guides Travel, and I would give them the highest rating for their end-to-end organization of the trip. From start to finish, everything was planned and executed perfectly. We had a private car and driver throughout the journey, which made the experience comfortable and stress-free. Our driver, Kamal, was excellent — not only a skilled and safe driver but also a wonderful host. He consistently made sure we felt safe and comfortable at all times. What truly stood out was his thoughtfulness — he even came in on his day off to give us a ride, which meant a lot to us. The tour manager, Mr. Nour, did an outstanding job planning the entire itinerary. He was accessible throughout the journey and always available whenever we had questions. The local tour guides were knowledgeable, professional, and pleasant — there is simply no way we could have seen and experienced everything we did without their expertise. The highlight of the trip for me was being in the desert and going on a camel ride — it was unforgettable and magical.

Tour Guide and Trip Designer · Certified since 2005

I'm Nour. I was born in Azilal, a town in the High Atlas, and I grew up speaking Tamazight before I spoke anything else. I qualified as a certified Moroccan mountain guide in 2005 and spent years leading treks and desert trips, including work with European cruise lines, before starting Moroccan Guides Travel in 2014.

Most of my work now happens before you arrive. I read what you send, think about your dates, and write a route that makes sense in that season. Sometimes that means telling you the Sahara in July is a mistake and moving you to the coast.

When you land, I know your driver by name — and I stay reachable for the whole trip. Whatever comes up, whatever time it is, you call or message me and I answer.

Questions

What people ask before they book

Anything not answered here, put it in the form — we reply in writing, no sales call.

Yes. Violent crime against visitors is rare, and the thing you'll actually deal with is persistent selling in the Marrakech and Fes medinas, which is tiring rather than dangerous. Traveling with a local guide removes most of it, because the people doing the selling can see you already have someone. Your driver takes you door to door, so you're not finding your own way anywhere after dark.

Women travel here constantly, including alone, and most have an easy time. You will get more attention on the street than you would at home, mostly verbal and mostly in crowded areas. With a private guide and driver you have a local contact at every stage, and if you'd prefer a female guide in a particular city, ask and we'll arrange it where we can.

Day trips from Marrakech start around $80 per person. Private multi-day tours run $150 to $300 per person per day, depending on your accommodation level, group size, and route. Our 7-day Casablanca-to-Marrakech tour starts at $1,495 per person. That covers your guide, driver, air-conditioned vehicle, hotels, and breakfast. International flights are not included, and you'll get a full line-by-line breakdown before you commit to anything.

For spring and fall, four to eight weeks. Those are the busy seasons and the riads worth staying in are small, so they fill early. For summer and winter, two to four weeks is usually enough. Day trips from Marrakech we can often confirm with two or three days' notice.

Private air-conditioned transport with your own English-speaking driver for the whole trip, plus a licensed local guide in the cities where one is needed. Accommodation in hand-picked riads, guesthouses, or camps, with breakfast every morning, and some lunches and dinners depending on the route. Entrance fees to the monuments on your itinerary. Not included: international flights, meals not listed, drinks, tips, and anything you buy along the way.

Yes. Air-conditioned, private for the length of your trip, with a driver who works only for you. Nobody else gets picked up. If you want to stop for photos, the car stops.

Yes. Days can be reordered, stops added, mornings started later. The one thing that isn't freely movable is booked accommodation, since a riad in Fes has your room held for a specific night. Tell your guide the evening before and they'll rearrange what can be rearranged.

No. US passport holders enter Morocco visa-free for stays up to 90 days. Your passport needs at least six months of validity beyond your entry date and two blank pages. Border officers sometimes ask for a return ticket and proof of where you're staying, and your itinerary from us covers the second one.
